For our rehearsal dinner, we will be having a real casual shrimp boil and providing beer. It will be at our venue (a barn), since we have it for the entire weekend. Our rehearsal dinner isn't so much budget based, as it is personality based. My FH and I aren't really into the formal sit down dinners, and this fits our style a lot more. Bonus: shrimp boils are EASY and affordable Smiley smile

Laid back is the way to go. Pizza and beer seems to be a super popular decision!

I think you can still consider your welcome party the rehearsal dinner. A lot of people combine the two. What you described sounds really nice!

I agree, and that is why we are doing an easy, affordable, simple, and casual shrimp boil & beer. It's a favorite for our crowd. I've read a lot of other people doing pizza & beer, which sounds pretty perfect to me too.

My FH’s parents are hosting and planning it near the venue! It will be a sit down meal.

We're doing an at home Friday night BBQ. We are getting married on a Sunday morning, but our officiant has a Saturday night wedding the night before, so we're doing our rehearsal 2 nights before the wedding.

Nothing wrong with that, as long as it gets done. Also, allows for a little wiggle room for the drinkers in case they have one too many.

It's starting to become a thing in our family that my Grandma-In-Law does BBQ, baked beans, Coleslaw, lemonade, tea, and the sort for rehearsal dinners. I think what you're doing is a great idea!

We will be having everyone in the party and the families at an Italian restaurant. About 40 people. But letting guest purchase their own alcohol at the bar if they wish.

My future grandmother in law suggested that we go to the Spaghetti Factory and pay for our bridal party, but everyone else who showed up would be on their own. I have a TON of out of town family so I wasn't thrilled with that.

Trying to convince FH that we should just grab some hamburgers and hot dogs from Costco and grill at the park across the street from my house (which is only 3 miles away from the church). He loves to grill and it's super cheap.

My fiancé and I have opted out for the rehearsal dinner. WE have decided to do a brunch rehearsal with our family very few closes friends. We actually met at Ihop for breakfast as our first date.
