So I’m doing my own makeup for the wedding, and it just occurred to me that I (obviously) have to do it for the rehearsal dinner too. Of course I want to look my best for the rehearsal dinner, but I also don’t want to do the *exact* same makeup that I’m doing for the wedding because I don’t want to detract from it the next day?

What makeup did you all wear for your rehearsal dinner, comparatively to the wedding day ? (especially if you are DIYing for both!)

Maybe different eye shadow and lip color? I'm just planning on doing something softer than the wedding.

I'm doing my own for the rehearsal but having someone do it for the wedding. Rehearsal will be more of my normal makeup days. I don't wear much on a day to day basis, so putting on any noticeable makeup is enough. I'm doing simple, but dressy. Our rehearsal is very laid back (like tshirts and jeans).

Rehearsal I’m just wearing my usual date night makeup. I’m not DIYing the wedding day but that will be much heavier.

I will be doing my own for the rehearsal dinner. I love makeup and am pretty good at it so I will probably just do like a date night look, something I am comfortable with and that is a little softer than what my MUA will do the next day.

One of my bridesmaids is doing my HAMU for the wedding. For the wedding, I'm doing heavier makeup & my hair half up half down. For the rehearsal dinner, I'm thinking more natural makeup and just wavy beach hair.

My makeup artist is doing my makeup for my rehearsal and we are planning on doing a different eye shadow palette, no fake lashes, and a different lip color. I am doing my hair all the way up for the wedding and for the rehearsal I am doing it half up!

I mean I do my makeup everyday so this is no different for me haha. Just look up a different eye-look and do a different lip color!
