Rehearsal Dinner...Is it really necessary???

I'm on the fence about doing a rehearsal dinner, not quite sure is it necessary. I planned to do a rehearsal for the ceremony the day before, but really didn't want anything additional to do after that. I'm having a morning wedding, so all the necessary rest I can get, I want to prepare for the day...

If I do have a rehearsal dinner, who should be invited to this? My opinion, it should be just the bridal party, and parents. Do we have to pay for this too?? UGH!!

Im just going to have it at my mom's house and do something simple like spaghetti Smiley smile Our rehearsal is at night, so I know everyone will be hungry afterwards. My mom's house is right down the street from the chapel so it works out perfectly. And we don't have a huge wedding party.

I personally think it's a personal prefernece. We are not having one, though it is traditional to have one. We have a very small bridal party literally one BM one MOH One BM One GM ONE flowergirl and ringbearer. I have a wedding planner/coordinator and we can arrive two hours early to the venue so I figure she will do a quick run through with them before hand, but for us we are one a budget and that was one expense we felt we could cut out, besides at our venue it's not included they charge a $100 for the rehearsal.
