Rehearsal dinner invites...

Mikayla, on June 13, 2017 at 2:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

Hi everyone!

What did you do/what do you plan to do for rehearsal dinner invites: mail invitations, call, evites? Is there a tactful way to let the spouses of my bridal party know that they don't have to come to the church and can just show up to the restaurant afterward?

I plan on texting/calling everyone. I can't be bothered with any more work than necessary at this point lol

Honestly, we didn't do any sort of invite and just told our wedding party and immediate family what the plan was. We hosted at a nice restaurant and since everyone that was participating in the rehearsal were the only people we invited to the rehearsal dinner (of course the SOs of the wedding party, etc., were invited, too), we didn't feel the need to spend money on an unnecessary invite.

Mail. They were like $1.15 each, and really nice. We are having a really nice rehearsal dinner, though, hosted by my dad.

Some people mail out formal invites, others just use WOM or evites. The rehearsal dinner can be more fun/casual so there aren't set rules about this.

We'll do printed paper invites and mail them.

We did printed invites and we mailed them. We asked for "regrets only" for the RSVP. I think mailed invitations make sure that everyone knows what the details are- address, time, etc! We had multiple family members and friends who don't use facebook or really check their email (I know...what decade are we living in again??!) so e-vites wouldn't have been practical.

We included an insert for the rehearsal dinner in our wedding invitations. We did not include an RSVP because we talk to those invited regularly and will just be texting to confirm their attendance.

We're doing mailed invites. It's hosted by FH's mom and step dad so we wanted to make sure we recognized that on the invites! We got 25 for only 18 bucks on Vistaprint!

I wanted to do mailed invitations but ran out of time Smiley smile So we did an evite and it worked pretty well! There were a few less tech-savvy family friends who never opened the evite and we had to call them anyway, but otherwise it worked well!

I told my bridesmaids that their SOs didn't need to come to the actual rehearsal, but we were also providing transportation for the rehearsal dinner and most SOs found it easier to come with so they had a ride!

We included an insert into the invitations. We listed pre wedding events like rehearsal, rehearsal lunch and a bonfire we are having in the evening. The people invited to all the events got one insert and we created another one for all the other guests with bonfire information.

We will sent out the rehearsal invites with the formal invites. As far as RSVP we are just putting on their to text us them plus their guest so we know for food.

Word of mouth , email , and texting. I like the idea of putting a card with the invites.

We got smaller invites to include with our wedding invites. Zazzle had 50% off the a week or so ago and I joined the Zazzle Black 30 day trial so shipping was free. Paid $27 for 30 invites. We are having our rehearsal dinner at a winery so I am really happy with them!
