Rehearsal Dinner Invites

Brittany, on February 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

If you are sending out or have sent out invitations for your rehearsal dinner, when are you planning on doing that/how far in advance did you do that?

Following... I feel like I might be too late for this since my wedding is March 23rd but I only recently figured the rehearsal kinks out

I am including rehearsal dinner invites to those invited in my invitation suites. (about 20 of the 75 invites being sent out)

We sent ours with the wedding invitations (like literally in the same envelope lol). It was basically like, we included our wedding invitation, then a smaller details card, and then another smaller card the same size as the details card but the header said “The night before” and then it gave the rehearsal dinner information.

We did it like this because the majority of our rehearsal dinner invitees are from out of town. Our wedding is a Sunday afternoon so if we didn’t inform them of the Saturday night rehearsal dinner, they may have planned to fly in on Saturday which would cause them to miss the rehearsal dinner. We wanted to give them all the wedding weekend info at once so they could schedule their travel accordingly, knowing right from the beginning that there was a Saturday night event as well

As of now, I think my plan is to wait until I get my RSVP's back to see who all I actually need to send the rehearsal dinner invite out to. We plan to invite OOT guests and bridal party. This way I'm not overloading them with too much information/events when I send out our initial wedding invite, and it will save me some money...which is always good, lol.

That ship has sailed for me Smiley laugh invites went out this week.

We will not know our rehearsal time until we meet with the venue this weekend, so I have not been able to order invites for that yet.

Luckily, most or all of the rehearsal dinner people are in the area already. The ones from out of town already know there is a rehearsal the day before and have made plans accordingly. Still planning on doing the formal invite though Smiley winking I found the cutest invites on Vistaprint that I just can't pass up.

Our invites went out already, so I can't send them with those. The vibe I'm getting is that I should send them out basically immediately after I have ordered and received them? I should be able to order them by this weekend or the beginning of next week, since we are meeting with the venue Saturday and will be finalizing the rehearsal time that day. I think I should have the invites in my possession by the last week of February. Should the first week of March be okay to send them out for an April 19th wedding?

This is a good idea Danielle! We aren't including out of towners in our rehearsal dinner (really just bridal party, who we know will be at the wedding Smiley tongue ), but saving money is always top priority!

In that case, I wouldn't really feel it necessary to send an invitation to the rehearsal dinner. They probably already expect it. I'd just express the plan to them verbally, or share it with them in their "wedding schedules."

Well, I'm definitely going to be sending the invites. I have a style I love from Vistaprint, and I won't be swayed Smiley smile just a matter of when.

I think that would be fine, especially if you said the out of town guests already know it is happening. I'd just send them as soon as you have them!

If anyone is doing online invites, Zola allows you to invite people to different events. I’m pretty sure WW does, too. The nice thing is people log into RSVP and they’ll only see the events they’re invited to.

I just sent mine out yesterday for our March 23 wedding. I wish I would have remembered to order them with our invites to save the extra stamps, but oh well!

I was going to include the rehearsal invites when I send out the wedding invites, so that gives people an idea of when to come if they're from out of town,
