For those who are planning or have already had theirs - did you include a drink package or have a cash bar? FH and I are torn on this topic - many locations offer packages with drinks included but it typically has a minimum (lowest we've found was $1500) on top of the room rental, etc. It's also a Friday night in Chicago, so there is a higher fee on top of that.

We're only have ~30 people to our rehearsal (that number includes guests) so the higher the minimum, the more we're reaching.

We're having ours at a restaurant that is BYOB (wine and beer only). We will be bringing the wine and beer.

Would you be able to have it not in the contract and then you could just put everyone on the same tab at the end of the night and pay it. That way you don't need to pay more than people drink but you're still hosting properly.

We are having a simple bbq for our rehearsal dinner with the wedding party, wedding planner, and the officiant and his wife. It is going to be very laid back mingling. I believe we will have something alcohol wise here and we are covering it.

The last rehearsal dinner I went to the wine was the only thing provided but any hard liquor was not. No body seemed to have a problem with it. They just made sure to have the waiters remind us when we were ordering so no one got a surprise bill.

We are doing a consumption bar of beer and wine. So it's open as far a guests know but we only pay for what they drink. With our guests we figured they are all pretty light drinkers esp the night before the wedding!

We are doing ours at the hotel we are staying at. It's like 24 people and we are customizing the menu for salad and two entrees. Listing two beer types and red/white wine... We don't want anyone going crazy obvious reasons lol

We provided margaritas (it was at a Mexican restaurant), wine, and beer.
