Rehearsal Dinner - Does the Bride and Groom give a speech?

Speeches are totally optional! Anyone can give a speech if they'd like and if you're okay with it

Nothing is “required,” but whoever is hosting has always given a speech at the rehearsal dinners I’ve been to. Sometimes it’s the couple, sometimes one set of parents.

Both sets of our parents said something.
My husband also said a quick little thank you to everybody (we opened it to all of our guests)

I think we just said quick thank yous

We’re planning on it but it’s totally up to you! We’ll do ours then give out the gifts

Usually it is the Groom and or whomever is hosting the event. Traditionally this was the Grooms family, so it falls to the grooms and or his parents to address guests.

Now it is oft given by the couple. If you both want to toast go ahead, do together or separately. Or one of you. But someone should.
Officiant can stand in if public speaking is hard for B&G.

I am not the speech type so maybe FH will say a quick little thank you to everyone. His parents are hosting the rehearsal dinner idk if they'll want to say something.
