Rehearsal Dinner Children

JLD, on January 27, 2018 at 3:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
We are having a wedding with no kids invited. That hasn't been a problem as the only two people invited with young kids are mine and FH sisters who have got baby sitters for the wedding. For the rehearsal dinner, should we follow the same role as no kids allowed? This is what I assumed would be expected, but my sister is now asking if she can bring her 2 almost 1 year olds to the rehearsal dinner.

If the wedding is adults only then I would have the rehearsal as the same. No is a simple answer to if she can bring the kids.

You don’t have to include kids, but be aware that anyone with kids probably isn’t going to get a sitter for two nights in a row.

Id allow kids so people don't have to get sitters twice.

I would say let her bring them if they're that young because it's not like they'll be running around screaming, right? It is your decision, though. If you don't want them there say no.

We are only having kids who are in the bridal party and that’s not different for the rehearsal. However it depends on who is paying for the rehearsal dinner and where it is, and how many people they are willing to host. I know RD’s can be a late night and aren’t always appropriate for kiddos. Can they get a sitter for both? That’s what I’d propose

I would let them come so they don't have to get sitters both nights.
