"Rehearsal" Dinner attire

Z_Runner, on June 19, 2017 at 9:59 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

We have a dinner w our families on Friday. There will be no rehearsal, but his parents are calling the dinner a "rehearsal dinner". So, what should I wear- a little white dress or something with color. My mom says I should be wearing white the whole weekend...

While I think white it the norm, I've opted to go with a darker color or black because ours is a Halloween wedding and FH loves the color black and I know he will love it. (I currently have 2 dresses that I'm debating, one is black lace over tan and the other a medium grey).

ETA: apparently I can't type today.

We had a welcome dinner and I wore a coral dress I already owned. I don't think anyone really cared and I certainly didn't. As much as it would have been nice to get a new dress, I had no time.

You can wear whatever color you want. I'm planning on wearing blush. I don't own any white dresses, and definitely wouldn't wear one again. I already have a blush dress and blush is a popular bridal color so I'm going with that.

White might be traditional, but I'm more on Team "Who Cares". Just wear whatever you're comfortable in! If you want to be traditional, wear white, but if you find something bright and colorful that you love, go for it. It's just the dinner.

I will say, if you don't really have a preference and your mom is giving you trouble, then it might not be a bad idea to wear white like she said. Just to keep the peace (if she's anything like my mom, agreeing to something like that would help in so many ways).

My wedding colors are different shades of purple and ivory and I'm hoping to find something purple for the rehearsal/dinner because it's my favorite color and I won't be wearing it for my wedding.

I don't think you need to wear white the whole weekend. That just seems absurd.

Wear something nice but comfortable. Personally, I would just wear something already in my closest.

I would wear any color you feel most comfortable in, if you want to wear a white dress with a pattern on thats always pretty and the best of both. But there is absolutely no dress code, its your welcome dinner you could wear jeans if you really wanted!

I would probably just wear what I would to any dinner. Maybe a nice sundress and sandals?

My dress is a floral sundress and I'm going to wear it with heeled sandals for the dinner (we are rehearsing, and for the rehearsal itself I'm wearing flats to accommodate the grass at the venue)

Wear whatever you want and makes you feel pretty. But there are *so* many pretty white dresses out there, I would wear white! There really aren't lots of opportunities when you get to wear a pretty white dress, so I say make the most of it!

I wore a vintage-style black dress for my rehearsal dinner. You don't *have* to be in white - everyone there will know you're the bride to be! :-)

Now, if you happen to like white dresses and pick up something you can wear again, by all means, do so. But don't feel like you *have to*
