Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party invites

BecomingMrsOz, on August 5, 2017 at 7:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

My parents in law graciously offered to pay for the rehearsal dinner but have asked that it also be a welcome party for out of town guests. I have two questions:

1) Is it acceptable to include the card for the rehearsal/welcome party in the invitation suite? Or should we wait to send separately a month before?

2) How should we word the name of the event? Right now I'm thinking, "Please join us for the Rehearsal Dinner and Welcom Party" but that seems too long.

ETA: title had a typo

I included mine in the invitations.

Could you possibly make two different cards? Some guests need to know the rehearsal info as well, so a card that says "rehearsal dinner" with the rehearsal info, and then one that says "welcome party" with just the dinner info?

If everyone is invited to the welcome party, then yes, include it. If only out-of-town guests are invited, I wouldn't include it.

Just call it "the Rehearsal Dinner." There is no need to have welcome party on there as well. My future inlaws are fully hosting the Rehearsal Dinner as well. All of their guests will be travelling across the country so they invited them all. We are anticipating 100 will RSVP yes for the dinner. She sent out separate invitations.

I would send two kinds of invites. Ones for rehersal and dinner and one just for dinner. I would send a month before if I was you.
