Rehearsal Ceremony and Dinner Timeline

MisstoMrsWeber, on August 2, 2016 at 12:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I was just wondering when everyone scheduled their Friday night rehearsals with dinner?

Our ceremony and reception location is about an hour away from where most of the bridal party, parents and we live. FH and I along with our parents will be off that day but I am wondering what is a realistic time for bridal party to be at the location for the run through vs what time dinner should be (dinner is about 15 minutes from wedding location)?

Thank you! I couldn't find much on this in the search!

Will most attendees be coming from work? If so, rehearsal at 6:30 with dinner at 7:30 might work. Talk with your officiant regarding how long the rehearsal will take. You can adjust dinner time with that information.

Ours is at 5pm, and dinner is afterwards, around 6:30.

I don't expect that all will be able to come, but our wedding is far for most people and they're taking that day off anyways.

We didn't have a choice in our rehearsal time, our venue gave us 12pm. So we had lunch afterwards. That way people still had time in their day to relax before wedding chaos the next day.

Sorry to ask that. But what's rehearsal dinner? We don't have this in Brazil. And I'm not planning to do a rehearsal dinner. I planning to go out for dinner with my girlfriends because they are coming out of town and I'm not having a bacharelot party before.

Our venue is our family farm so its up to us. Our DOC said anytime from 5:30 to 6:30 then dinner after. She recommended picking a time that works best for our bridal party who will be coming from work then driving that hour. So 6:30 would be ideal but then dinner would be realistically around 7:15-30.... Is that too late of a dinner? or should i just do it earlier and be ok with anyone who can not make it?

Dinner at 7:15 or so would be perfect.

Perfect!! I'm just scared of all those stories where the rehearsal dinner runs long and late and people didn't eat until 9 lol the worst weddings you have been to threads are getting to me!

Is most of your bridal party staying at hotels near your venue on Friday night? Or planning on driving home?

We booked the bridal party two houses 15 min from our farm! So no driving the hour home! That would have changed my mind though if we hadn't!

@Cris if you have a rehearsal with your bridal party, you should host a lunch or dinner afterwards with them and their significant others, immediate family and anyone else involved in your wedding.
