Regsitry gifts - no name??

Happily Ever Mrs. H, on September 19, 2018 at 9:10 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Hi All,

I received one of my registry gifts in the mail recently and I have no idea who it's from, more importantly, I cannot thank them. It was a somewhat expensive gift, too. The first gift I received in the mail off my registry was in a registry box and had a little card inside. This one wasn't in a registry box, the product was thrown in the box with bubble wrap and shipped to me.

Am I able to find out from Macy's who sent it? Would I have to contact their registry department?

Yes, Macy’s has a “Thank yous” section in their registry manager in their website— but only if you’re on a computer — I can’t access it through the mobile site.

We have only had 1 present come like that but when we finally found out the sender she did it to throw us off and make us wonder who it was LOL!! Probably not the same I'm sure Macy's could tell you (Our mystery gift was Dr Dre the Chronic on vinyl so ridiculous registry item followed by mystery haha)

Yep Macy's, along with many other registries has a "thank you" section where you can see who purchased what. I had to use this several times on different registries. So happy it's a feature!

I would call their registry department and see if they can tell you, or at least alert the buyer that you don't know so they can tell you.

Not for a wedding gift, but for a baby gift we’ve had that happen twice! 2 things have shown up from our baby registry and I finally made a post on Facebook saying we got gifts but didn’t know who they came from. I looked at the registry but couldn’t find out who sent them! Turns out it was H’s grandma that sent one of the gifts (she messaged me asking if we got anything in the mail) but haven’t found out the second. I figure they will mention it at the baby shower lol.
