Regrets on saying yes to the dress?!

Carey , on August 20, 2019 at 12:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I know I may be atypical for all this wedding stuff. I never had a big dream, or idea of what I wanted. My sister came with me to dress shop and balled her eyes out on the second dress I tried on. I never really cared. Just needed something to wear that didn’t itch, make me break out in hives, wasn’t hideous or heavy. So I bought a relatively simple dress in January (wedding is in October). I have tried it on several times since it’s been home (and I’ve lost some weight). Last time I tried it on, it looked and felt fine. Today I put it on and I don’t like how it fits or feels. My boobs are gone from the weight loss and the wire bust is concave now.
I went for a makeup trial and the renowned artist made me look horrid! I regretting all of this wedding stuff. Any advice?

I would (if you have time) go and try on a couple more dresses. you want to feel beautiful and comfortable on your big day. and your friends and family should understand that!

Sounds like your dress might need some simple alterations given your weight loss. If you aren't interested in finding a new dress, find a seamstress who can help you achieve what you are looking for!

I had major dress regret. Until I got it altered and could see how it looked when properly fitted. Now I love it again! My advice is to visit a seamstress.

If you hate the make-up you got at the trial, I'd either talk to the artist about what you didn't like, find a new artist, or if you don't want an artist at all to do your make-up, don't have one do it. That's the nice thing about the trial, this way you wont have that make-up that you felt horrible about on your actual day

I'd definitely recommend getting the dress altered to fit, and also talking to a seamstress to see what kind of things they can do to make it look different. Adding a belt, sleeves, more layers underneath, etc. can really change the look. As for the makeup artist, I'd recommend either going back and talking to them about exactly what you did and didn't like (bring pictures if you can), and if you don't feel like it's going to work out, find someone else. It's not worth the worry that you'll end up re-doing makeup the day of.

I'm sure your dress will be better after alterations by an experienced tailor! I hope you're able to find another makeup artist soon!
