Registry question

Cathy, on July 8, 2019 at 6:44 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13
I am a bit confused. According to a lot of what I’ve read on here, you are not supposed to include registry information your wedding invitation; then what is the point of making a registry? I set up a honey fund registr, but how will anyone ever find I don’t say anything?

Registry information is included on a shower invitation not the wedding invitation. For a honeyfund you can put it on your wedding website or spread it by word of mouth.

The registry is for the bridal showers mainly. I didnt have one but we included information on our website and didnt really mention it otherwise. We still ended up with gifts from it.

I found that word of mouth is how most of my guests are finding out

Word of mouth. My mom and fmil are throwing my shower they have told their family and friends about our registries on Macy’s and Bed Bath and Beyond. And it’s worked out well so far 👍🏼

People will ask where you’re registered if they want to know. If you have a shower, I’m assuming you won’t since you’re only doing a honeymoon registry, it would be included in the shower invite.

It'd be on the shower invite, spread by word of mouth, or if you're doing a large all encompassing invite package it'd go on an information card, and possibly your website if you have one.

We're including registry information on the shower invites and the website.

I’m torn on this one... I recently got an invitation for a wedding and they mentioned they were registered at Macy’s and to be honest I didn’t think it was tacky or off-putting.... that being said i think on my detail card I’m going to put the link to our website which has our registries. Tbh if you put the link to your honey fund on your detail card, I think that is fine

I included my registry information in with my invitations because I’m not having a shower and I’m not making a website that wouldn’t be used. Majority of our guests are out of town so it was the simplest way to get all of the info out there! I just wrote a little note that had all the info on it! I don’t see the problem. You know your family and guests, so just go with whatever works for you!

I didn't have a shower but I included an information card with my invitations that said to visit our website for registry information.

You put the link on your wedding website, then typically put the website on the invite so people can find more wedding information there. If you have a shower, you put your physical registry link on there!
