Registry or Honeymoon?

Leighann, on September 8, 2019 at 9:37 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8
Is this a thing now? We are 38 and have kids. We have stuff...... Stuff on stuff.... On stuff. Is it rude to ask for a honeymoon fund instead?. I don't need spatulas or pans... Or new mixer I'd love to go somewhere though.... How does one go about this?

You can do a honeyfund, but people tend to have mixed feelings on them. I personally think they’re a crock. You sign up on a website, ask your friends and family to pay for your vacation, then the website takes a portion of their gift. If you don’t want physical gifts, skip the registry and people will give you cash and you can keep 100% of it.

Check out Zola! They have a combination registry where you can set up a honeymoon fund, ask for gifts and donations. It has it all in one place and that way people can decide. We just hit prioritize funds for the honeymoon.

We are also in our 30s and have pretty much everything we need Smiley smile

If you don't want stuff, I'd avoid a bridal shower altogether. Where I'm from, everyone gives cash for wedding gifts. I did not get one physical gift for my wedding so there was no need to set up a specific fund. If you and your friends/family members do this too, there will likely be no need for a fund.

On your wedding website instead of creating a registry...just simply say that you’d prefer monetary gifts. Also let guests know by word of mouth

It's not rude, it's super common.

I just wouldn't do a registry at all, most likely people will gift cash at the wedding. You'd have to skip a bridal shower that way, but those aren't required.
