Honeymoon fund? or gift cards? often times if you don't have a registry people will get the idea to just give you cash.

I'd honestly just skip the registry altogether. People will know to gift cash instead. Given your situation, I'm sure that cash will be way more useful!

There is no point in registering for stuff you don't need. Skip the hassle and the majority of people will give you cash that can you use to buy whatever, pay off debts, or save towards a down payment.

My FH and I are in a similar living situation. We opted for a honeymoon fund through Traveler’s Joy.

Not everyone gives cash, especially older guests. And people will want to buy you something. You can create a registry at Amazon with anything you enjoy together, whether it's board games, movies, camping, etc.
