Registries

Elizabeth, on September 3, 2019 at 5:00 PM Posted in Registry 0 7
How do you let you friends and family know about your registries or where to locate them? I heard that it is rude to put your registries on your invitations. My registries are on my wedding website. I plan on putting that website on my RSVP card for an easier way to reserve. Do you think that will be enough, or should I state that my registries are on the website too? How did everyone else tell your friends and family about your registries?

We had 1 registry (Amazon) and it was on our wedding website. Our website was on the back of our save the date, and on a details card in our invitations. My mother hosted my shower, and she put "the bride is registered on Amazon" at the bottom and also included our wedding website. I had a few people ask me where we were registered but only 2 or 3.

Putting it on the website and the website on the invitation is plenty. If someone offers to host a shower and you accept, it can be provided on that invitation.

Yes you are correct. It’s kind of a silly game, because it’s bad manners to ask for gifts for yourself. Yet you know people will most likely want to give you a gift. Your invitation should only reflect you’d like your guest to share your special day.
So you never ask for the gifts or include that on the invitation when you are sending an invite. When someone throws a shower for you, the purpose of that is to shower you with gifts, so that’s ok.
Times have changed, so I think it’s acceptable now to include a registry section on a wedding website. I just wouldn’t do it on the actual invitation.

I also just added our website to the invites for RSVPs, with the intent that they'll see the registry when they go online to RSVP Smiley winking less gift-grabby while getting the point across.

I think that's enough that it'll be on your wedding website

My registry is on my wedding website as well. I listed it on the detail card that was sent out with the invitation. I put “please visit our wedding website for accommodations, registry, and more!” Then listed the website below

    Hey Elizabeth!

Great insights from all the PPs!

I really like Aleaj's idea of adding "Please visit our wedding website for accommodations, registry, and more!” to your details card!

Did you decide what you will do?
