Regarding comb vs. alligator clips...

Hey all!

I've been searching far and wide for an answer to whether I should go with a comb or an alligator clip for my hair fascinator. I've found so many conflicting answers I'm at a loss! So maybe I'll describe my specific situation: I have fine hair, but lots of it (I don't know if it matters but it's also really long). I plan on having it half up, and with a veil. The hairpiece I'm interested in is pictured below, with examples of what the etsy seller offers in terms of alligator vs comb. Also attached is a pic of basically my hairstyle idea. Any and all suggestions and help is much appreciated, thank you so much! xoxo

Depends on were it is going. If it's going on the side I say alligator clip and lots of hair spray to make it "dirty" ( I have thin hair too and that she only way I can get clips to stay) I would use the comb if it's going in the back with back-up bobby pins clip etc...

Great question! I'm conflicted too! I want my hair half up. I found this gorgeous comb on etsy. I just haven't bought it yet because I don't know whether I should buy a comb, clip, or Barrett.

@Beka - it'll be on the side for sure... and that's what I was thinking, I'm just worried if the alligator clip might show/stick out, but I guess a good hairstylist could fix that.

@Linda - based on the varied responses I've seen at other sites, I'm betting basically any will do. And hairstylists themselves have preferences... if you have a hairstylist in mind, maybe ask them what they prefer working with? I've yet to find mine so I can't ask :/
