Regarding bridesmaid's gifts

Sierra, on January 2, 2020 at 11:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
What is the appropriate amount of $$ to spend on brides maid's gifts? What are the appropriate gifts to consider for brides maids? We are having a rustic/elegant theme so I would like their gifts to tie in with the wedding and be a part of something they can use at the wedding.

I would base it off your budget. Remember that anything you want them to use for the wedding isn't considered a gift, but more of a "prop" for the day. I would shop for each girl like it was their birthday; do they wear perfume or jewelry; do they travel often and could use a personalized luggage tag? A small gift and a thoughtful note about how much they mean to you would definitely go a long way.

Hi Sierra, my gift to my bridesmaids is paying for their dresses which are almost $200 and don't at all look like frumpy bridesmaid dresses, they are elegant and meant to be worn many times over, I also will pay for their hair and makeup!! good luck.

I think your gift amount can be whatever you determine it to be. Personalized gifts are always nice if your girls are into those things. A good gift is pretty much anything they may enjoy. Maybe dinner gift cards to somewhere nice, candles, a framed picture of you two, some bubbly babe drinks or maybe even like a favorite lipstick.

As far as your theme, I'm not really sure on how to tie in something rustic. You could get them nice duffle bags for them to use on the day of the wedding! I've seen bridesmaids coming through with 3 and 4 different bags lol. I think it's a nice gesture and all your hand picked gifts can go inside!

Definitely agree with gift depends on budget. I have received jewelry as a gift so all of us girls matched. I gave my girls a candle, cup and lotion and plan to get jewelry and robe. I may do more but we will see closer to my date.

We had originally said we only wanted to spend $50 per person on gifts, but then my husband found a gift he wanted to give his groomsmen for about $65 so that's what he gave them. I would estimate that my gifts to my girls were roughly $50-60 as well. It all depends on what you can afford.

Whatever you can afford. I've been a bridesmaid twice. The first wedding, the bride gifted us a sparkly watch and the second she gave us a robe. We had a larger budget, so we paid for each bridesmaids hair & makeup ($140), and gave each girl a thank you letter, tote, water bottle, cute pair of socks, and a getting ready outfit (they picked it out of 3 options). We also paid for transportation & breakfast/lunch on the wedding day. For their proposal gift, we gave them jewelry boxes, liquor shooters, hair ties & nail polish. For the bachelorette party, I gave them wine camping tumblers & hangover kits.

I'll be giving them their shoes & jewelry from the day and then their actual gift will be a $20 gift card to one of their favorite places Smiley smile We're on a low budget at this point but my girls (thankfully) understand 100%!
