I think it's just personal preference. I like the aesthetic of rectangular tables, but round is definitely better for conversation. A mix of both could be nice.

The venue we booked includes tables. There are 10 60 inch round tables (can seat up to 10 people comfortably) and 10 6ft rectangle tables. We will be using both for various reasons. I’d say it really depends on how much space your venue has. Round tables are great for grouping off your guests, but I have seen people make great use of rectangle tables as well, especially with limited space.

Space isn't an issue here, I was wondering more for the conversational aspect.

I am doing round but i definitely like the look of rectangle more. there's something about the rectangle one that makes it seem more modern to me.

Ok awesome! Then I’d say round tables for sure. Easier to group more people together that have something in common: friend group, bride’s family, groom’s family, etc. Definitely better for conversation.

I like the look of rectangles, however they require more centerpieces. Round is better for conversation in my opinion, and only requires 1 centerpiece per table. You could mix and match.

We used both, I think they worked really well together but I think for smaller spaces rectangle work better since they can be fit closely together. Circular looks fantastic in larger areas, or outdoors. We had to use both because of spacing, but it definitely affects your centerpieces and how you decorate the different shaped tables.

For looks, I think round tables look classier.
I prefer rectangular tho for maneuvering thru a crowd purposes.

We will be using round tables for guests. Rectangular for bridal party, food, gifts, cake etc.
