Recommendation/thoughts on engagement ring

LISA, on July 16, 2019 at 7:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
My boyfriend bought me a size ring which doesn't slode off, but fits around my knuckle.. the ring does a 360 around my finger. I fit in a 6 1/2 but i have to apply pressure to take off the ring. Does that mean i should go up to 6 3/4 ?

Ring fit and pants fit are similar in the way that they both have a personal factor of what is uncomfortable. If it doesn't bother you I'd say it's fine. That being said I've never had a ring that could do a complete 360 around my finger, I'd consider that loose for my personal standards.

Even if it doesn't fall off the knuckle?

I would wait until you add your wedding band. My e-ring by itself is loose but once I got married and added my wedding band it fits snugly together. Plus, your finger will swell and change size throughout the year. If it really bothers you there are little plastic beads you can buy off Amazon to put around the band that keeps the ring in place.

Yup. I think as long as it doesn't fall off the knuckle it technically fits. It's my personal preference that it doesn't twist around 360. My mother likes hers to be able to rotate like that though.
Fingers do swell so make sure to wear it a few months before deciding

Have you picked out your wedding band yet? My ring was a little big after a 40lb weight loss but I knew I wanted a ring enhancer as my wedding band so rather than getting my e ring sized I got my enhancer a bit smaller so they fit snug and it works perfectly. You could also get some sizing beads to add to your ring but if its snug on your knuckle but not on your finger that might just be the fit that you get because of your finger shape/ size. My best recommendation is to go to a jewelry store and consult with them I'm sure they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

Mine drives me crazy! My finger is a 5 1/2, my knuckle due to arthritis, is a 6 1/2... I put the spacers in, but it's still too big...it spins constantly. I even got a ring guard and it still spins.
Can't wait to get my wedding ringSmiley smile hopefully, it will help.
I'm losing weight, due to stress, which doesn't help the situation.

Good luck! I hope it isn't driving you crazy too Smiley smile

I agree with the messages on the wedding band. There are also some creative options to add to your ring that help tighten it around the base of your finger. The "butterfly" is one that works with larger knuckles. I have a small spring in mine that looks like a half moon gold strip that helps tighten the ring when I need it and it prevents it from spinning from being top heavy. Consult a good jeweler who does his own work for the best options. However, the wider band once you add your wedding band will tighten it anyway.

Sometimes it depends on how bloated we are that day. Sometimes my rings are so tight on certain days and sometimes they aren't.

Your ring maybe top heavy and that's why it keeps spinning especially if you feel like the sizing is correct. I would take it to a local jeweler and have them take a look at it.

There is definitely room between my finger and ring. Im just confused if i should get 6 1/ 2 or 6 3/4. My Jeweler has the ring down but forget to bring the thing to size me. I went to a random jewler and they confused me
