Recommendations on wedding invitations

Alissa, on September 5, 2018 at 12:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Hi guys! Looking for reccomendations on the most cost effective wedding invitations? Or just your overall experience of where you ordered your invitations from. Where do you get the mailing labels done? I’ve been looking on some sites like Etsy and I just see the invitations and rsvp cards and envelopes, nothing about labels. Thanks!

Do you have a printer at home? That would be most cost effective. You'd just buy the labels at a store, type out the names, then print them with the printer setting on for the type of labels you buy.

Oh wow no I didn’t even think of that. I don’t have a printer but I have one at work or other family members. Thank you!

I got mine from Etsy, from This American Wedding https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheAmericanWedding. They were very affordable, I think we paid $200 total for 150 invitations, envelopes, cards tucked in with our wedding website, response cards, and response envelopes. The response enveloped already had the address written on, and then my mom and i just wrote in all of our guests' addresses. They were quite nice, fancy, folded invitations, and quite cost effective, though we did have to assemble them (fold, order the cards, etc).

Typically wedding invites are hand-addressed, especially formally ones. At a minimum I would print the envelopes and not use labels.

Hi Alissa! Normally invitation packages don't include the labels because many people address them by hand! Agreeing with the above comment, you can go out and buy the labels and print them at a Staples, that will be cost effective! As for the invitations themselves, I have heard that Vistaprint has good deals on them! Have you liked any of the ones you've found on Etsy?

I ordered my STDs from basic invites. I am in the process of finishing up invitations/rsvp. They print the address and return address for free on the invitation envelopes, which was amazing. I have horrid penmanship. For the rsvp cards I believe it was 10cents per envelope to print our address for mailing back.
Their webpage was easy to use. Everything is customizable. They ship incredibly fast.

I got my invites for approx. 10 cents a piece but getting a free downloadable template off the internet so all I had to pay for was paper and printer ink! https://www.weddingchicks.com/2_free-printables.html This is the site I used and I love my invites, they also have matching rsvps and some have menu cards, table numbers and other things. With my labels I’m going to go buy the blank ones from the store and print them myself...

We ordered all in one invites from Minted with a 20% off code I found on Facebook. They printed the addresses on for me. They were very inexpensive and I didn't have the hassle of having to print them myself (never works like I think it will) or addressing them.

I found an instant download template on Etsy that I liked and could customize (typically less than $10), purchased a really nice paper on amazon, and then had it printed at work. We did the invite, accommodation, details, response, and reception card in a pocket envelope (purchase on Cards & Pockets). I absolutely loved how it turned out and it was a little over half the cost that it would’ve been to have it ordered in a completed version.

My handwriting SUCKS and FH's is okay but my mom has beautiful handwriting and we had her do ours! Looks like we hired a calligrapher! I even got gold paint pens to match haha. If you don't like yours, ask around your bridal party and family. :-D

Also, I got my invites from Michaels! $52 for 60 invites/envelopes/enclosure cards/rsvp cards/rsvp envelopes after using the 40% off coupons.
