Recommendations for certain style of photographer

Hi! Photography is the most important component to us for our wedding. My FH and I have looked at TONS of photographers and think we've identified a style that we're looking for. We aren't opposed to the light, airy, whimsical style that is very popular now (although some of those photos we've seen make their subjects seem almost blurry), but we really love the crisp, romantic, classic, realistic style a little more, but not to the extreme. We definitely don't want the overly edited or dramatic style (like something you'd see in National Geographic or Time magazine). The ceremony or reception photos by many of the whimsical photographers we've seen tend to lack in capturing motion. Examples: some of the pics are taken REALLY far away or look like pics that one would take on their iPhone during a ceremony (understood - perhaps the couple requested that the photogs stay out of the way); some tend to lack in the capture of motion; tons of photos capturing the back of someone's head or someone taking a sip of wine mid snap.

We're not criticizing any of the photographers we've studied because they're all extremely talented. We're just trying to gauge whether more of the in-between styles exist/anyone knows what we're talking about and if anyone has any recommendations.

I guess we're looking for something in between the two styles. Quality work that looks rich, crisp, realistic, dramatic (but not too dark) produced by someone who has the eye for angles, lighting, mirrors, black and white shots, and is A++ at capturing candid photos as if he/she/they can be flies on the wall. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
