Reception Wording on Invite

Mandi, on July 2, 2019 at 1:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Trying to figure out how to give information about the reception.

On the invite do I put:
Rejoin us at 7pm at Western Vinyards for dinner and dancing.

Or should I put that on a separate card?

It will not immediately follow. And my guests are used to 2pm ceremonys, 7pm receptions. So this won't be an issue.

I would just put it on the invite! The Rejoin us at 7pm is fine to me!

I've never seen "rejoin", I've just seen the main invite with the ceremony time & place then another card for "Please join us for the reception at 7 PM at X". If you don't want two cards, I'd just put "ceremony time place" and "reception time place".

Yeah. Ceremony and reception are at the same place. I just want them to be politely informed that they may want to leave and come back. They are welcome to stay and help flip the room if they choose.
But I'm not having tables set up during my ceremony. I just consider that tacky.

I think such a huge time gap will let people know they can leave, but you could include an insert card with things to do during the gap?

I've never seen "rejoin" but I've also never been to a wedding with a gap. If your guests are all used to such a long gap, what do invitations usually say? I would stick with your circle's norm so they know what to expect.

    Good idea.

I probably won't. But only due to the fact that 89 of the 97 invitations are being sent to people who live less than 25 minutes away from the venue. And the remaining guests all attended college in the same town less than 5 years ago.

We are probably looking at a higher acceptance rate than we would prefer to admit to ourselves at this point.

Thanks! I've only been to one wedding without a gap. And I wasnt a fan. But I understood since it was at the fairgrounds in the middle of nowhere, and I was the closest guest living 3 miles away on gravel roads.
It's a little unusual that I'm having my ceremony and reception at the same place. It's pretty unheard of around here. But I got a great deal. I also decided I still wanted the party bus experience and to take photos after the ceremony. And the caterer is going to need to set up too.
So I pulled the "this is my wedding" card.
Just getting down to the details is a little trickier than expected.

I put mine on the back, we have about a 45 min gap between and the two venues are about 15 miles apart.
