Reception Ideas near Encinitas ca

Breyanna, on October 11, 2019 at 8:36 AM Posted in California Planning 0 6
Hi Ladies!

I'm new to WW but I have a question. I'm at my wits end with finding an inexpensive reception venue! I am having the ceremony in Encinitas, CA and am looking for somewhere that I can do the location and food for about 2500 after all the taxes and service fees. We are coming from across the country and it will be around 35 people. I know that's a small budget, but does anyone have any ideas in the area? I found one vendor who is in that price range but I just had to ask.

I don't think that's an unrealistic budget for 35 people, but I also don't know the pricing out in CA. Have you considered a state/public park with a picnic area that's free or available for rent super cheap? You can always spruce those areas up with decorations and then the only thing you'd really have to pay for is the food!

In that price range, I'd look for a restaurant with a private room that would accommodate 35 people. To stay within your range, you'll likely need some place where food & beverage is under $55 a person (tax and gratuity will likely be a total of 29%, or about $15pp). Especially if you can do lunch rather than dinner and/or a weekday rather than weekend, you should be able to find someplace willing to work with your budget. I just did a quick Google search of "restaurants with private party rooms near Encinitas" and got back a bunch of options. Choices in far North SD county, like Oceanside, or moving inland, like San Marcos, Vista, and Escondido, will be more likely to work with your budget than someplace on the coast. Good luck!

I don't know if they'll work with a guest list as small as 35, but you could reach out to Wedgewood Weddings. They have a venue in San Clemente, which is just north of Oceanside, in Orange County (WedgewoodWeddings.com). The price per person, depending on the package/day of the week and date, can start around $55. They do the ceremony on the golf course and the reception in the club house. According to the website, they offer discounts for dates booked within four months. It's not "on the beach," but if you look past the freeway and the businesses on the other side, they boast a "peek-a-boo" ocean view.

I think The Crossings would be out of her budget.

Honestly, I have about that many people for our rehearsal dinner and the quotes I've received from local restaurants are much more than $2,500 if you want a private room.

Maybe try and Airbnb and cater in from a local restaurant?

I don’t know if you want to drive that far, but the Center for the Arts in Escondido has lunch for $38 per person which includes coffee and tea your toast and a wedding cake from an awesome bakery. I can’t remember how much the room is, but you get a discount if you spend a certain amount on food and beverage. They also have a taco bar for 50 for a good price but then I don’t know if you’d have to pay a different price for the drinks and rolls and stuff like that.
