I got my menu options from the resort and we are currently debating what we want to choose.. I don’t want to do buffet because I have hated waiting in line to get my food in past weddings.. but we only have 50ppl compared to the ones I’ve gone to. I want to do the 3 course meal but FH says people are still going to be hungry afterwards because he has stayed hungry in the past lol.. which do you prefer? Pros? Cons? To both??

thank you..

I am doing buffet with about 80 guests if not less, it is more casual so if you like plated and a bit more fancy then do that! The guests will be fine, you aren't going to the wedding to have a 5 course meal! Haha! With 50ish people buffet shouldnt be a problem but if depending on style/thene of the wedding, choose which you want!

I think this completely depends on your own preference. I went to one wedding with heavy HEAVY apps and plated dinner (I don't remember there being salad when we sat down cuz of the amount of apps or maybe it was part of apps) just steak and accompaniments then dessert after. I have been to many marine corp balls with plated meal. I have been to one family-style wedding and I hated that style the most. For some reason sharing with people around me (and I didn't know everyone) was weird. We like buffet style simply because it's pretty common to our area and I enjoy getting more of something if I want to and allowing guests to do so. So like if I am not a fan of the chicken or fish but they have a pasta bar, I am all about it. I have never felt like I was standing too long in line. If the dj announces it right it should run smoothly, 2 tables at a time and wait til they are almost through. It gets to be annoying if they call up 2 tables then 2 more 2 mins later, like why haha. I don't understand the strong hatred for buffets. Ya'll go to Chinese buffets I am sure of it! I don't equate being in a cocktail dress means I should be served my food.
