Reception dinnerware

We are catering in a wood fired pizza oven and they will make the pizza right then and there for each person. We are also having salad with the pizza. Do you think having one plate for both pizza and salad would be fine or do they really need separate ones. Also a different fork for everything? One per person for pizza, salad, and cake or no fork for pizza?

I would go separate plates. Me personally I like my salad separately.

    yes, definitely separate forks.

If you want to save money, get the nice formal plastic ware from Sam's - it's beautiful, economical and disposable.

I would do a big plate for the pizza, a bowl for the salad (to container the dressing better) and small plates for the cake.
I don’t know many people who use a fork for pizza, but if your crowd does, then I would have a salad fork, dinner fork, and dessert fork.

We did wood fired pizza and salad for our rehearsal dinner! I would definitely have separate plates for those items. Also, I would do separate silverware. A salad fork & knife, a dinner fork & knife, and a dessert fork.

I agree with separate plates for everything (or a bowl for the salad) and silverware (or high quality plastic ware) for pizza & salad, and a fork for dessert. I know we're probably weird, but my entire family eats pizza with a knife and fork -- especially if we're dressed up for a wedding.

Separate plates. You don't need forks for the pizza but separate forks for salad and cake is best.

You can buy heavy duty utensils and plates at Costco.
