Reception catering

I just had a convo with my fiance and we had previously agreed that he could choose the catering for the reception, considering that is the detail he cares the most about. I found out today that he wants to have things like Portillos and Beggars Pizza and fried chicken for our catering. I HATE it....

It would look so bad... and I have no clue how to explain to him the importance of having real caterers and not what is essentially fast food delivered. (Our venue allows outside catering, so that is not a concern)

I had fried chicken at an event and it was amazing. It was served on nice China and overall felt very formal. I think it's how you do it. You can incorporate his fav foods in a more formal way besides ordering Popeyes. Maybe find a caterer that can do this and convince him to go for a tasting.

We are doing street tacos from a local taco stand in my hometown. It by no means is a formal plated multi course meal nor does it require a knife and fork other than for the rice and beans of course, maybe y'all can do something like that? As long as your guest are fed I don't think they will care if it was a multi course meal or not.

Maybe he's having the same problem my fiance did. My FH was suggesting all sorts of fast-casual restaurants to cater like subway and chipotle simply because he has never eaten from caterer's menus and wanted to sample everything before we order.
