Recently got engaged and want to have a fall wedding, 2021 or 2022?

Should I plan for fall 2021 or 2022. I want about 100 guests and the venue I want right now only does 75 at covid capacity which I could probably make work. I just don’t want to spend all this money and people feel obligated or dont come. My fiancé and I both want 2021 but my parents are very...

I agree, 2022 sounds safer than 2021, and probably more available. Plus it'll give you time to save extra money for the wedding/home/honeymoon. Smiley smile

Honestly I would do 2022 even for planning your wedding right now. I was looking the other day at wedding dress boutiques and a lot of them where i live are limiting the number of people you can bring to 2 people (I personally could not make that work I need my mother, sister, and mother-in-law there) and it makes meeting with vendors harder too so I would recommend waiting. On the plus side you should totally be able to get all the things you want without fear of someone else already booking your date and enough time to save up more if need be so less financial stress.

Realistically only about half the people you invite will show up

I just got engaged and we are planning 2022 and honestly everyone we tell seems very relieved and grateful. I’m honestly even nervous things won’t be ok then

You plan and do what is best for you. Just know that a lot of venues will already be booked up for Fall of 2021 with all the COVID couples that have moved their dates.

If you are flexible with Sunday's or Friday's, you might get a date. I would suggest doing 2022. Our venue is at full capacity, but we are indoor and outdoor.

    Congratulations!!
We got engaged a month ago, and we are shooting for February 2022, a destination wedding ( where I am from)
We do understand some people will feel comfortable traveling overseas by 2022, and others will no, but we talked and decide we don't want to be engaged for too long. Whoever decides to join us that day, we will be delighted, and whoever decides not to go, We genuinely understand.

I was in the same boat I was deciding between Fall 2021 or Winter/Spring 2022 and it was hard at first. Once we found a date that had significant meaning to us February 2022 was an easier choice to make.
