Real photo booth or photo wall diy

Rebecca, on September 3, 2019 at 2:57 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
Hi guys! Planning my DJ now and I really want a fun photo booth but wow are they expensive with the DJ packages that are already pricey!
What’s the general opinion on having an actual photo booth or having a photo wall and people can take their own pictures and use our hashtag to share them with us?

Photo booths are definitely pricey, but I would've loved to have one if it were in our budget. I vote photo wall!

I love the idea of a photo wall and was going to do one too if I couldn't find a photobooth in my budget. I amazingly found one for 400 on a holiday special! Absolutely nothing wrong with a photo wall though, great cost cutting idea!!

We are doing a DIY photo wall. It has been so easy to plan for. We bought a bunch of props and signs at Party City, added a few we had from home, and just grabbed a few costume headbands (unicorn, witch hat, etc) from the Dollar Store. If you have a great spot for a backdrop, just set it up with the props and put up a sign. If a backdrop is too expensive or too much of a hassle, grab some faux hanging flowers and those hooks with the sticky tape you can pull right off.

What amount do you not want to exceed for a photo booth? I feel like since they’re used so often, there are many at reasonable prices

I've heard SO MANY TIMES how people have rented photobooths for hundreds of dollars only for them to be used for 30 minutes... It's not worth it man. It's way more cost effective to have a photo wall - and it can double for a guest book if you invest in an Instax camera!

I think a diy photo wall is fine. it's ok to not have actual prints I think just having an area people can take cute pics in is fine. You can also have some cheap props

There are DIY photobooth services like Booth by Demand or Booth by Mail where they'll ship you the camera, backdrop, and printer. It's around $300, so much cheaper than a traditional photobooth. I'd honestly spend close to that if I were to build my own photobooth with printer, so I think it could be worth it.
