Reading wedding vows

Elise, on September 5, 2019 at 9:00 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 14

Hello! My wedding is this Saturday and I am pretty much all set! I wrote my vows in google drive and I'm just wondering how people actually read these for the ceremony?

Should I print them out on a piece of paper? Read them off my phone? How would I get the paper or phone down the aisle as I'm not bringing a purse?

Silly question I know, but I just never thought about it!

I would print them or write them in a cute notebook. Your MOH can carry it and hand it off to you.

I'm guessing the MOH holds onto it? Or maybe the officiant? I think most people put it on a piece of paper or an index card. I've always wondered this too. Is it possible to memorize it?

I agree with having a hard copy (and honestly, I'd have multiples). I'd have the MOH carry it, and I'd probably also give a copy to the best man, and maybe even to my mom or whoever's sitting closest to me, just in case

They sell tiny Vows books for pretty cheap at craft stores, your groom could fit it in his pocket for you if no one can hold it

We’re writing our vows as well. Our minister is holding onto them until it’s time for us to read them. That way we don’t have to worry about loosing them. I actually printed mine on a decorative paper.

I was wondering this too, but I just bought vow books for us yesterday to rewrite them in, and i'm gonna ask my MOH to carry mine since her dress has pockets! Smiley laugh

I printed mine off, and someone got them to our officiant before the ceremony. So when it was time to read them, he just handed them to me.

I personally don't like the look or feel of reading of a phone but to each their own. We are writing our vows in books that reference a show or movie we love and will actually carry these instead of flowers, but you can have the officiant or your MOH carry a piece of paper or small notebook for you.

We are each going to write our vows in a plain card and give them to the officiant to hold. But I definitely agree with everyone that you should have a hard copy and not read it off your phone.

Our friends used a cool old book they got at goodwill and just glued/taped everyone’s vows and speeches into it, so it was used the whole night.

The officiant or best man will be holding ours...haven't decided yet.
