Reader Gifts??

Brooke, on June 7, 2017 at 7:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2

Did any of you get gifts for the people doing readings during your ceremony? FH's sister will be doing the reading, neither of us are close to her, or even very fond of her, and we only have her doing the reading to make FMIL happy.

Not sure if I should get her a gift, and if so, no idea how much to spend on it. Any/all suggestions are appreciated on this one!!

My situation is different from yours, but I will be getting my readers gifts. My sister and her wifey will be doing a reading for us. I have 5 siblings and they are all going to be included in the wedding whether its an usher, groomsmen, bridesmaids, or readers. They will all receive a gift from me for being a part of the wedding. Due to the fact that you aren't that close to her, perhaps you could get her a small gift. Something in the $25 to $30 range that is thoughtful and unique? Do you know what her interests are? Is she a girly girl? Outdoorsy person? Artistic? More specifics would be helpful for gift suggestions.

No reason to buy a gift. Although people are adding all kinds of gifts now (parents gifts), one only needs to buy gifts for the WP. If you want to do something, why not write her a nice handwritten note telling her that you really appreciated her being part of the wedding and that it really meant a lot to you?
