Ranting about rings

Sherry, on March 6, 2022 at 3:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 8

We are starting to look for rings and we need something durable and practical because of our jobs. (hes a nurse and Im a chemist) We decided that we like zirconium. He found one he liked no trouble and pretty inexpensive. me on the other hand not so much. everything is either completely impractical or just plain and boring. maybe im being too picky. anyone have a zirconium ring that they love?

I think this is the one time you can be as picky you want besides picking your dress. My ring is not zirconium but with your profession can see why you want one. I have searched for zirconium rings and I do see why you're having trouble picking one you love. What is it that you really want your ring to look like? What do you envision when you think of your dream ring? Answering that might help you pick what ring you want. Is it possible to get one custom made?

Some jewelers do custom rings- my engagement and wedding band are custom from the same place, and I opted to get lab made sapphires instead of diamonds (which had the added bonus of making both rings much much cheaper). I just picked out the style I wanted, they drew up an estimate based on the style and kind of stone I wanted. Maybe look into local jewelers in the area and see if any of them work with zirconium?

I got silicone rings from Saferingz. For the 3mm it’s about 20. I still have my engagement ring but it’s nice to have a cheaper ring meant for work to where instead of possible ruining my other ring. Hope this helps Smiley smile

I would recommend checking out moissanite! It won't be quite as budget friendly as zirconium, but it's becoming very, very popular as a diamond alternative. It's all completely ethical as it can only be made in a lab, but it's a 9.5 on the HRB scale (so it can take a beating) and ranks higher than a diamond on...whatever the official scale is for sparkliness (so it's gorgeous). Since it's a little more popular, you may be able to find more options for styles?

I personally recommend Rosado's Box (their Etsy store) aka Love & Promise Jewelers (their brick and mortar store in Chicago). Their customer service is unmatched and they will send you pictures from all angles of any ring or ring combo you can dream of. They also offer custom design services and have many dainty or low profile designs.

A friend of mine works in our company's Chem lab and he wears a silicone ring at work but his "real" wedding ring for social events, which is also an option!

I work in the field a lot and also needed a durable ring. We went with Groove Silicone Rings - they have lots of fun options! https://groovelife.com/

My ring is in a very simple style. I don't need to take it off when I am doing housework and washing kids' clothes, because it is very small and delicate. It was 3-prong setting with a small heart-shaped diamond, quite a delicate and stable design.

I'd like to recommend my ring, not for its style or the diamond, but for its unique meaning! My friend recommended it: she said there's brand, which you can only customize a ring for your only love at. That made me so curious about it, ad I googled it and found it at a reasonable price, and every single ring has its design with love. I did love it when my husband bought it for me, and we signed a true love agreement. I framed the certification in my house.

Are you looking for engagement rings or wedding bands? I'm a chemical engineer, so I'm going with a stainless steel band. He'll probably get gold. I can't wear my engagement ring to work.
