Random photographer question

Kristen, on January 24, 2020 at 7:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

One photographer I was viewing has her cheapest package which is what I would need only allows 50 digital images and any additional $5 each. Is that normal? I thought most photo packages included all files taken from the day.

I’ve never heard of that before but that sounds horrible to me. You’re going to fall in love with like 1000 photos and have to pay for each of them. I personally would rather pay a flat rate and get a few hundred (my photographer gives 800-1200 photos)

Yeah I would rather pay more and get all pics and not pay more. I guess that counts them out.

I've never heard of this. Normally they edit so many of them and that's what you get. We got like 990 from all of the photos my photographer took. I know she took more than that, but that's just how many we got.

Yeah I thought that was not what it meant but when I asked that is what it said. Seems I need to get the more expensive package to get a USB with all files.

This is normal in Vegas. Most wedding packages come with photography with a stipulation on how many photos are included.

Hmmm that is odd. I have seen most packages you get a downloadable online gallery at least. I would rather pay more and get all pics.

That is so strange. My photographer gave us a flat rate, depending on the # of hours and services we get. He will edit the photos and give us the good ones (leaving out the ones where we blink and stuff like that) and send them to us. Could end up being 100 photos or 300. All the same price.

Yeah that is what I thought. I would hope I would at least have over 100 pics.

Honestly, that package sounds ridiculous. I would look for another photographer. I’m not even sure I would trust one that prices her/his packages that way. As someone who is obsessed with her wedding photos, 50 is not enough lol.

Lol ok I thought it was me. I am wondering if all cheaper packages are like that. Random note last week I met with a photographer. Liked her and told her I wanted to hire her but i wanted her to send me some wedding gallery pics and her avail dates. I msgd her Monday without response. Tuesday I see the fbook pg she was gone so i msg her via Instagram and she explains through some strange she had wit a wedding vendor spreading lies she disconnected her suicidal media for a day and just had to mentally deal with the situation. For we all text differently to bad situations but that presented 2 red flags for me. 1-there's drama 2- so if distressed you just shut down? . What is that happens on my wedding day? Fast forward to today, i see she's seen my Facebook msg, no follow up or info of services so a part of me feels she must not be that interested in my business. Should I just find a new photographer or reach out once more?

I thought I replied to this, but it’s not showing up. So I’ll try again...

I’d be weary of that photographer. She sounds incredibly unprofessional! The 2 most important things or me when planning my wedding were my photographer and videographer. At the end of the day, the only thing you have left of your day are your photos and videos (if you choose to have a videographer). So choosing a reliable one is very important! I would keep looking if I were you. And make sure you read reviews!

Check out Alex and Cammy http://alexandcammy.com/. I am not sure of the packages they offer. But they are FL based photographers and have photographed 2 of my friends weddings and will be photographing a 3rd friends wedding this October (not the same weekend as yours, I checked Smiley winking ).

Oh thanks so much I will check them out. I also have a couple of photographers that did other friends weddings and I'm thinking about reaching out to. I agree exactly with what you said is that I just expect professionalism and also I kind of feel like I'm not going to beg anyone to give them my business. But she will be fine without me because basically she's already getting busy and already has a lot of wedding photography this year so I won't really be much of a Miss for her.

I've never heard of that for a wedding but I think that's normal for photo studios at the mall for instance
