quick tipping question

Mrs. Coakley, on February 4, 2017 at 4:50 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Do you tip your bridal consultant? I've had one woman help me each time I've gone in for my dress, and she also helped my bridesmaids. I really feel she has provided impeccable service to myself and my girls. I want to tip her when I pick up my dress for the final time, but not sure whether this is appropriate?

We tried to tip one at one of the shops I went to because she was incredible (even though I didn't get anything there) but she wouldn't take it.

If you'd like to then definitely go for it, but in my time in retail I've worked for companies that explicitly state in the new hire paperwork that employees cannot accept tips so don't be offended if she turns it down.

Leave a review specifically naming her and let her manager know how awesome she was. I did this for my consultant and when we went in to look at BM dresses she had been promoted!

I think a nice little gift would be better, and I can't even tell you why.....maybe a gift card for a nice restaurant or a massage and a scented candle?

I have a LOT of female coordinators/venue directors/sales managers that I gift every year. This year it was a mix of Starbucks cards (I am supporting their decision to hire 10,000 immigrants), scented candles and hand lotions, coloring books and colored pencils and chocolate.
