Questions?

Lynne, on June 12, 2019 at 8:04 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

I keep seeing things about wedding websites, wedding favors, registries. I feel so lost. My first marriage was something simple. So I don't know about a wedding website or wedding favors.

What exactly is a wedding website? Why is one created?

Who are wedding favors for? What are some that are good to do?

My FH and I already live together. We currently have things that we need for us and our home. What would we put down on the registry?

HELP!

    Congratulations on the engagement!!!!

The website mostly gets used if you dont want to do paper RSVP’s or if you have outside guests you would add all the information about the wedding or where to stay in the area.. in my case I’m doing a destination wedding so I have the RSVP, the resort info and how to book through our travel agent, and the wedding events...

Favors, I see some people do them, but I honestly think they are a waste of money, most people don’t use them, specially if you do something personalized with your wedding info... I see most people don’t eatable favors... I am having a small wedding (50-60 guests) and I am considering them but i love you thinking a luggage tag (not personalize) people will definitely use them since they’re traveling (Cancún) for my wedding.. if you do want to give your guests something I suggest something useful and not personalize... good luck!

I am in the same boat as you! I’m not doing a wedding website because that’s not me and I am keeping my registry simple. Maybe some kitchen items we wouldn’t splurge on otherwise

My FH and I have lived together for 3 years now. We just put upgraded stuff on our registry. Also things we don’t have.

A wedding website is optional it is just a website you make to tell guest about the wedding. I
favors are for wedding guest really not needed. If you want to do them so
e people do food like cookies or treats others do coasters and so on. We are having a ribbons for when we leave but also guest cam dance with them and take them home.
Registry is a know your crowd thing. Some people say if you don’t do one you will get money. I know we have people that will want to do a physical gift so we just registered for upgrades. New sheets , new bath towels , new shower curtain. I also go this cool crock pot that is on a timer so it goes to set warm after 8 hours.

I think wedding websites are useful if you want to forego paper invites and just because it's a good way for people to refer back to for information.
I love wedding favors just because it's cute to give someone a little thank you for coming.
I opted for a honeymoon fund.

Wedding websites are good for guests to have so they don't forget information or if they lose the invite. You can do all your RSVPs on them. You really don't need one.
Favors are little nicknacks you give away to everyone at the end of the night. Unless they're eadible or really unsual people don't always take them, so don't waste money on them if you're not sure. Candy, coffee, desserts, are all popular choices.
For the registry you could list things you'd like to update around the house. Towels, cups, ect.
