Questions Regarding June Wedding and Corona

Sara, on March 13, 2020 at 6:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
As I’m sure many of you are, I am currently freaking out about our June 12th wedding. I’m not really sure how to proceed. I vacillate between saying “let’s just power through” to being a crying, blubbering mess. I do have two questions I’m hoping you can give me your input on:

1) I have yet to order invitations. The save the dates were sent out some time ago, but I’m hesitant to order the invites. How long should I wait? I’m unable to determine the right thing to do.
2) My bachelorette party is Nashville on May 2nd. I’m not sure whether to cancel it or reschedule or just leave it as is. Thoughts?

I can relate! Our wedding is June 11, in Spain. We are just monitoring the situation closely and will see how things are in about a month. If things have settled down a bit, we may still have it, but if it’s gotten worse we have accepted we may need to postpone it. We were also about to order invitations last week but the situation has changed so fast now we are going to wait.

My bachelorette is (was?) gonna be in Vegas April 10th weekend but now we are wondering if we need to either a) push that back too, or b) have it in a different location that doesn’t require people to fly.
Obviously not ideal, and this whole thing is now affecting everyone in one way or another. All we can do is see how it unfolds and try to practice flexibility, patience, and optimism! 💕 hoping the best for you too!

    So scary right?

I think you can wait a few weeks to order invitations since you will probably send them out in April. This thing changes hourly so waiting it out is never a bad plan.

For May 2nd- check to see if your hotel/flights are refundable. Different places have different policies, some just through March, some through April. I would look into that and come up with a plan B Smiley smile

I'm a June 6th bride. I already have my invitations and they will go out in April . I'm planning on following through with my wedding and honeymoon in Saint Lucia.

I'm sure this will have leveled out by then. The people I'm concerned about are the elderly and the ones with compromised immune systems.
Keep in mind, the flu causes deaths and I've yet to hear of a wedding being cancelled due to the flu. It's scary because of the unknown, but the widespread panic isn't helping.
I've heard limit travel for the next 8 weeks to control spreading the contagion, wash your hands properly, stay home if you are sick and don't panic.
    Good luck! Don't worry!

I'm getting married June 27th and will definetly wait until at least end of April before making any postponement/cancellation decisions.
