Questioning the dress

It won't look dirty, get an ivory veil as I think white would stand out too much - a charcoal gray suit would be fine for you FH to wear

This dress is so unique!! I don't think it looks dirty. It's just the embellishments that make it really pop up and look different. But with the right lighting and angles it will really make it pop

I personally think it is absolutely stunning! I love the detail on the dress and it would look good with a charcoal suited groom!


Since you describe the color as dark ivory, I think you need to try to either see the veils you’re looking to buy or order swatches to make sure they match. If your veil is too light, it will make the dress look dirty.

You look great in it! I've actually heard that ivory or off white wedding dresses turn out better in pictures than pure white. I'm not sure why, but probably something to do with lighting and back flash. But I agree with others that you should try to find a veil with a similar tone.

I agree - it is stunning! I also selected an ivory/champagne colored dress. As other's suggested I would recommend an ivory veil. I will also caution you that having an ivory dress myself, I quickly learned that ivory comes in varying shades. I'm actually making my own veil and ordered a few different swatches of tulle before I found the right shade. I suggest if you are having any alterations done where there is fabric cut off - getting a piece of that to take with you when you look for your veil. Best of luck - you are going to look AMAZING!

That dress is gorgeous & looks beautiful on you! Make sure the shirts your fiancé & groomsmen wear with their suits are ivory. I was told that if they wear white shirts it makes your dress look dirty in the pics.
