Question. The ring bearer gives the rings to the best man?

Bunnycita, on July 14, 2017 at 9:13 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

So he will be the last one before me to walk down? He gives it to best man and thats it? Is that how it works?

How old is your ring bearer? Ours will be 3 and will not actually carry the rings. He will just have a pillow or a box. The best man will hold onto the actual rings.

Normally the ring bearer doesn't actually hold the rings. The best man holds them and the bearer holds a symbolic box or pillow. At least that's how it goes when the RB is a small child.

He is 6. Yeah, I will give him only a pillow. But so what does he do with the pillow? Gives it to best man?

Ask your officiant what they want to do. Mine required us to give him the rings prior to the ceremony starting. Less chance of them getting lost that way.

My nephew is 6 and he will be my ring bearer. I will be having him walk down the isle then bringing them up to us when the officiant ask for them. I'm not worried about him loosing them, he is very responsible and I know wouldn't be fidgeting and playing around during the ceremony.

I have the RB walk the aisle and give the pillow to the BM who usually puts in on the ceremony table. I don't let small children have expensive jewelry. Don't make me tell you the story of Point Pleasant Beach, a four year old, a metal detector and five strainers....

Our best man just held on to the rings the whole time. I wasn't going to trust a 6-year old with them, lol

I've typically seen it as more of a cutsie "awww" moment, not legitimately functional. RB walks down the aisle with a pillow/box/faux rings and then usually either stands with a groomsmen, or if very young, can go sit with their parent. No actual passing of the pillow, etc.

If your ring bearer carries the actual rings the Best Man will take the bride's ring and the Maid of Honor will take the groom's ring. The ring bearer takes the box/pillow with them and is seated.

If the rings he/she carries are fake then the Best Man should already be holding the bride's ring and the Maid of Honor will hold the groom's ring. Best wishes!

Our best man had the rings in his pocket, our 5 year old ring bearer went down the aisle with the pillow and handed the pillow to the best man to pretend he was giving the rings. I think our ring bearer took the pillow back and went and sat down with it.

Our RB was told to give both the MOH and the BM high fives when she got to the end of the aisle so it looked like she was passing off rings (the two adults were each holding a ring). She didn't think too hard about the fact that she never had the rings or never actually opened her box to hand anyone the rings until after the ceremony when she finally got the box opened for her and was surprised she didn't have rings at that point.

We have 2 ring bearers, both 3 year olds. The BM will have the rings the whole time and the RB's will just carry symbolic pillows. We are seating their parents at the front near the aisle so they can just go sit with them once they reach the end of the aisle. No matter what they do, 3 year olds are sure to be cute! At my brother and SIL's wedding the ring bearer didn't know what to do when he got to the end of the aisle so he just sat down haha. It was adorable! His dad came and got him a second later.
