Question: How many hours should I rent out a location for my Bridal Shower

bina1015, on January 27, 2015 at 4:47 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

How long did you schedule your bridal shower for? My uncle is letting me use the clubhouse he works for and when he asked how long I wanted to rent it out I had no idea. I was thinking 12pm to 4pm on a Sunday. Do you think that this is enough time?

What I really want to say is "no time, because you shouldn't be scheduling your own shower"...but maybe that's not what you mean. I've been to showers that are approximately that length, or like 1-4 so that sounds good.

Yes that's plenty of time. Mine is only 2.5 hours. People don't want to hang out that long.

Christine, schedule probably wasn't the best word lol. When I asked my uncle to reserve the day and get a price, he said how many hours do you need to rent it out for. I had no clue and he suggested 12-4

My MOH is planning my shower and bachelorette party for the same day. We have access to the venue for the whole day. She's planning on the shower being from 1-3 and the bachelorette party from 5-7.

Lol yeah, maybe just ask him to coordinate with whoever is hosting your shower.

Do you have someone planning it for you, or are you taking charge on this?

Not sure how big of a shower is being planned but you may need to factor in time for decorating and stuff before hand.

Monana, my mom is throwing the shower. Since I'm her only girl she wasn't sure either my aunts told her so many different answers she's confused. I think we are going to book it from 12pm to 4pm but tell guest 1-3, that way we will have an hour to set up and an hour to clean up.

I would say 3 hours for the shower and an hour for set-up/break-down, so yea 4 hours is good.

PS- you're not planning your own shower, right? Smiley smile

Annakay511- no, my mom is and my fmil said she would help. She just wanted me to ask my uncle about renting the clubhouse that he works at. I may help with the dessert but that's it.

The last shower I threw was about 2 hours but people will show up a little before and some will stay later to talk so 4 hours should be perfect to include set up and clean up.
