Question about tipping

Erica, on November 11, 2020 at 7:07 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
We are having our engagement photos done this weekend and would like to know if it is proper etiquette to tip and how much typically?

You don't tip until long after the wedding is over and only those who go above and beyond the call of duty.

We tipped our photographer for the engagement shoot as well as day of wedding.

We tipped him $100 for the engagement (after digital delivery), $500 for wedding ($300 right after wedding, $200 after photos and album delivery); $75 for his second shooter (given right after wedding).
People have different thoughts on how much to tip or if you should even tip, but we appreciated all he did for us and our photos looked great so why not!

I personally did not tip at all. Our photo session was only 2 hours long.

I’ve heard anywhere from $50-$100 for engagement photos AFTER you receive them.

It's up to you whether you want to tip and if you tip now or after the wedding.

We tipped after our wedding photos, not our engagement photos (same photographer).

We're not tipping until after the wedding photos are completed and sent! We're also writing our photographer a thank you note with a starbucks gift card inside. (we know her personally hence why we're gifting her a SBs card)
