Question About Invitations

Mumsie, on August 26, 2019 at 1:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
I have heard of RSVPing via a customized website set up by the bride and groom, but is there such a thing as an online wedding invitation? If so, how does that work?

Yep - those definitely exist. There's the standby of evite, but I think minted also does virtual invitations - they were running a beta program last fall when we had our engagement party so I assume it's fully functional now. I believe minted charged a little per invite to use their design, but it's really gorgeous - you can pick a background (we used one that looked like a wooden table with photos of us scattered around, with the invite in the center), and the invitation looks like a physical invitation, and when you clicked on it, it zoomed in so you could read the details. And then of course people could RSVP right there on the site. The annoying part for me was getting email addresses and making sure people checked their email. We send Christmas cards every year so we had most everyone's home address, but email was another story.

Paperless post is one I have used in the past. Paperlesspost.com you email it out, and guests can RSVP right from that.

I definitely wouldn't do them. There is just way too much risk that they'd go into people's spam folders or get overlooked.
