Putting on your veil logistics

Jenny, on June 12, 2017 at 9:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

This is kind of a silly question I'd like to put on my veil right before my ceremony, but my hair stylist won't be there, and I've never actually seen a veil properly pinned on before (at the bridal stores they just kind of stick it in for temporary effect). How did you work this out? Just practiced? Watched some videos online or?

Maybe a bridesmaid can learn how to place it for you? Or someone in your bridal party.

Depends on how your fixing the veil. If it's on a comb it's relatively easy to stick it in for the ceremony then take it out again later without messing up your hair. However some veils are pinned in and that is more complicated and will require someone to assist.

Mine was on a comb, it was pretty easy to attach. How does yours attach?

My hairstylist isn't coming with me to the ceremony, which is about 3 hours after she finishes her stuff. I also would like not to have the veil for my first looks.

My veil is a drop veil, and to be honest, I have no idea lol

Drop veils usually are just dropped on your head. Have you looked at your actual veil? If it doesn't have a comb or pins or anything, then it doesn't actually get fastened in any way, it just goes over your head and sits there.

My hair stylist showed me and my sister how to put my veil in and take it out so we could put it in right before we left for the ceremony and take it out after pictures.

Thanks Smiley smile I have read that drop veils look dropped but are actually pinned in in someway. I will have my hairstylist show me and my mom Smiley smile

You can also just google it - "how to secure a drop veil"

Looks like there are lots of tips.
