I am really considering buying a sample gown just to save on cost do you recommend it ?

If you purchased one can you please tell me your experience and show off your beautiful dress?

Thank you in advance!

I purchased a sample (less than half price ($2250) was $1000) Ian Stuart 2 years ago at a designer day. A perfect fit, although I've worked to stay the same size for two years!! Can't wait to wear it on the 30th!!

My dress! I did not like the belt that came with it. Sorry I'm on my phone. But I will 100% recommend going to sample sales!!!

I did but then ended up deciding on a different dress. Most bridal salons will only do alterations on gowns you purchase there. So wherever you purchase from make sure they're able to do alterations or refer you to a good seamstress who specializes in wedding gowns.

I bought a sample. It was a discontinued Stella York. Don't know the original price but on the clearance rack it was still $800, then they marked it down to $500 for me just to get it out of storage.

I purchased a sample sale dress for my September wedding. We looked over it real good and made sure there was not significant damages. The shop we got it from was really great too and handled everything with care, so I am not worried at all....... and it saved a bunch.

I purchased a discontinued David Tutera dress. It was originally $1700 and I got it for $1000. If you find a sample you love I highly recommend buying it.

I'm posting more than one pic but I'm on mobile so sorry in advance.

One of my bridesmaids owns a bridal shop--her advice for purchasing sample gowns is to make sure the dress wont need a huge amount of alterations in the bodice, especially if it is very detailed. If you are within a couple of sizes though, a sample dress is a great way to save some money.

If you're located near Tacoma or Portland there is a bridal shop called Brides for a Cause. They are second hand dresses, that people donate and proceeds go to breast cancer. I'm going to their Portland shop to find my dress, but their prices are very good. You can also check out their website, but most of the dresses they have online have already been sold, I know because I fell in love with this one and when I tried to buy it they told me I was a week too late.

Great way to save major money. Mine was over 60% off which is the only way it was remotely in my budget. I had to have it sized down from an 8 to a 2/4 which cost extra because of the detail but still within my budget.
