Purchased dress may be too tight!

I purchased a dress at a consignment bridal shop and the volunteer said this dress fit me especially with spanx. But upon trying it on again with spanx I am getting a little nervous that it is too tight. Because of COVID-19 I haven’t been able to get to a seamstress to talk things out. The dress will need to be shortened at the waist because the bottom is scalloped and the skirt/bottom does get wider through the hips about an inch or two. I don’t know if I should try to find a new dress or if it looks like a seamstress would fix it. If anyone with alteration experience has any suggestions let me hear them! A seamstress can let it out a little. I think it’s a beautiful gown and it looks very pretty on you especially the keyhole back.

Gorgeous dress!! And yes - it definitely looks like a seamstress would be able to let the dress out for you!

In fact, with intricate dress hems like yours they tend to take the extra fabric off the top of the skirt - right below the belted waist design - so that they won't mess with the special hemline!
