Pumpkin centerpieces?

Hi guys! So, I am having a fall wedding next October and FH and I love the idea of pumpkin centerpieces, hollowed with flowers/candles.. but I'm not sure how huge of a task this will be.. and if we use real pumpkins how long they will last? I'm wondering if anyone has tried this? Or have you done...

I'm wondering if anyone has tried this? Or have you done the foam carvable pumpkins? Here's a pic of what we're hoping for... Has anyone done this?

@AutumnBride - What did you end up doing?? I searched for "pumpkin" and this thread came up... I'm doing my own centerpieces w/fake pumpkins and flowers. I'd love to see how yours came out!!
