Been engaged 3 months and planning to get married in Puerto Rico summer 2020. I am looking at all the venues and have a few favorites ( Condado Vanderbilt, Isle Verde & a few others). However, I am trying to stay within my budget especially if I have to fly a MUA out bc I cannot find a make up artist in Puerto Rico that does phenomenal on brown/dark skin girls. If they say they do I am not seeing their work on these same brown skin complexion women.

Also, is a wedding planner really needed?? I mean like really? lol

Any suggestions on Venues, MUA's etc in Puerto Rico??

Congrats! I am getting married in PR at Hacienda Siesta Alegre in 4.5 months! I planned everything myself (with the help of my mom and sister!). We will be hiring a day of coordinator as I have found most of the are pretty expensive and I have hired every single vendor except the florist myself! I have a full-time job, but other than that very little stress in my day-to-day life so it was no trouble at all to find all of my vendors. I would be more than happy to share some of my vendors if you message me. For ME, it was satisfying to find and hire my own vendors. Smiley smile

As far as makeup, I'm going with Beauty By Javier Moreno. Without a doubt he is the best of the best and I'm confident he will know how to do makeup on your skin tone. Look him up on instagram he posts LOTS of photos of his brides. If you scroll to the bottom of his page you will see he has done darker skin toned women. I highly suggest flying down there to do a hair/makeup trial as well. It will also help to see your venue in person, etc. Save the money you were going to spend flying a hair/mua and spend it on yourself to visit before your wedding. You will not regret it! Again, feel free to reach out and good luck on planning your wedding!

I'm also doing the destination wedding (Jamaica), our resort has a wedding planner/coordinator included. I did get a travel agent to deal with travel expenses for our group traveling because I didn't want to deal with the stress, questions and extra emotions. Her fee was very low. She's sent out emails to everyone had has set up payment plans for those choosing to attend. I told I don't want to know who has already booked and who hasn't, if we see them in Jamaica, great if not, as long as our kids(we're paying for their rooms)are there that's all that really matters.

Venue twins, ha! I will have it as my carry on and hope that the flight crew will allow me to store it up front in their coat closet! Fingers crossed, ha.

Help! What would you recommend for just a small ceremony and dinner after? We decided to do an impromptu wedding while on vacation with immediate family. I’ve had my dress so we will be formal in that manner but not so much like a sit down reception to follow.

    Hi Brittany,

I think in that case your best bet would be to go with a restaurant that has wedding venues as part of their offerings. It’s usually smaller, and will probably allow you to have a dedicated space for your ceremony and then to share dinner with those attending. The place where I got married in Puerto Rico has a gorgeous area for ceremonies (gazebo in the middle of a pond) and they only charge like $150 extra to use it, but you’d have to call to know what the minimum guests can be. I’ve seen hotels that work with small wedding parties that maybe can quote you for 10-15 people (including yourselves). Below is a list, I know some of those restaurants offer the wedding venue, I’m not sure about all though. With the name and the location you should be able to find them online. 1. Terra Campestre Convention Center (Guaynabo)2. Océano (Condado)3. El Convento Hotel (Old San Juan)4. Morton’s The Steakhouse (Condado-San Juan)5. Fogo de Chão (Condado-San Juan)6. Los Chavales (Hato Rey)7. 1919 Restaurant (Condado)

I would say Oceano or the restaurant at the La Concha.

How much did your wedding budget total to? W how many guests? Looking to get married Nov 21 2020 in Puerto Rico! Guest list will likely be about 100 max or less. Need to host ceremony at a Roman Catholic church w hopefully a reception nearby. Whether hacienda villa, restaurant, botanical indoor garden, hotel, etc. If not at a hotel (bc pricey), which venue + lodging would you say? What do you recommend?

Hello, I will be having about 100 guests, i have seen quite a few Catholic churches by visiting photographers IG pages so I am sure that will not be hard to find. Hacienda Villa is beautiful, some other venues to look into are Casa De Espana, Perla Restaurant, Hotel el Covento

My wedding is in July 2020, a few of my guest will stay at the Vanderbilt but most of my guest will stay at the AC by Marriott which is a few blocks away bc they gave me a better rate. No resort/hotel in Puerto Rico is All inclusive as PR is US. I heard that there is a all inclusive resort coming which was supposed to up and running Oct 2019 but it is not as yet.
