My friend did. I thought it would be tacky but I was well fed.

Luckily no one will know but the wedding party, lol. We had to move the wedding and everything around it. For safety we have someome brining out the food to each table.

We had booked a huge sweets display, but they couldn't get our date right and acted like they couldn't guarantee the food would be ready.

I guess I say what I say because I am used to weddings where you just splurged for nice meals but the last two I went to, one was at a country club for lunch but it was build a burger which was new esp at a country club and then my friend since it was a budget friendly wedding said it would be publix platters. I am a stuck up foodie though I think as I get older lol. I thought publix platters but it was actually nice and I was well fed and I love publix deli food. So surprisingly what I thought would not be filling and tacky was actually nice. Now having since planned a wedding and seeing the prices if I were having a larger wedding instead of a 3 guest minimony I would have done a pizza buffet. I think there is a slight revolution in receptions for the budget friendly bride which is good.

I have not used their catering for more than finger foods, but I do plan to use their catering for day-of, getting ready food and my wedding cake (a couple of Chantilly cakes). What kind of food are you planning to get? I love Publix; you can’t go wrong with them.

I was looking into their lasgna dinner pack. I figure that it couldnt be too hard to satisfy everyone with that. I noticed some of the cakes in the catering book and they honestly looked adorable. We special ordered a geode cake from a shop. If we where still lookong though I'd try forthet

That unicorn cake does look delish!

I think the lasagna dinner is a good choice. Do they sell it in the deli as an individual or family meal? If so, perhaps you can try it that way to make sure you like it. Someone else mentioned the Publix lasagna dinner in a post a week or so ago. A search for Publix lasagna in the WW forum may pull up that thread. With a little addition of salad and rolls (which you can buy from the regular store instead of the deli and assuming the dinner does not come with that), I think you have a winner. Plus, check to see if they deliver (some stores do, some don’t). If they do, the delivery fee isn’t outrageous.

Hello. Not sure where you live since I know Publix is big in Florida and parts of the Southeast. Call local cake places too. I inquired for a publix wedding cake but they are being comparable with other cake places and I felt they were expensive. The place I am working with was a much better deal than Publix. I love their cake but I guess on the risk of sounding stuck up if they are going to charge cake baker/decorator prices then I would rather support a small business and get a cake from there.

Hello Kristen, and thanks for the suggestion. I would agree with you under different circumstances. I've revamped my wedding plans completely in light of COVID--- from a 250 person wedding in New Orleans to 15 people on the beach in Destin, Florida. While planning my big soiree, I was working with a local bakery for a traditional 5-tier wedding cake; however, it doesn't make sense anymore to do so with such a small crowd. I'm purchasing 2 of Publix's standard Chantilly cakes that cost $26 a piece and placing them on individual cake stands (that I already have). I'm getting non-traditional, great tasting cake for my wedding for less than $60 -- you can't beat that Smiley smile

No worries . . . and it does make a difference, doesn't it? LOL! When I started planning my Plan B wedding (as I call it), I actually looked at local bakeries before deciding to go with a standard cake from Publix. However, the local bakeries just weren't economically feasible for what I want -- didn't want to go with cupcakes. (Side note: if you've never had the Chantilly cake, it's awesome! If you like cake and fruit, it will change your life. LOL!).

Ya know...we are just having a minimony with three guests but I still wanted the bridal experience. I wanted a two tier and there was a bakery I felt in love with and I think they will do more flavors than publix. We are getting chocolate and strawberry layers with a strawberry mouse with fresh chopped strawberries for the filling. Best part we can save the top for our anniversary. I am extra though ha ha.
