Meg, on July 13, 2017 at 3:43 AM Posted in Planning 0 29

I know not everyone has a Publix grocery store, but just curious if anyone out there has ordered or will be ordering their wedding cake from Publix??

I'm considering it. My publix bakery is amazing, and my venue even recommends them, haha.

I love Publix too but I would not get a Publix cake only because I also love to support small businesses.

I went to a wedding with a cake from there and loved it! I contacted them for my cake but they were kind of expensive, there is a delicious bakery in town that is cheaper per serving so I decided to go with them instead.

Publix told me a wedding cake would be $440 for approx 150-175 people. But 200 cupcakes and a 9 inch round top cake was like $160.00. Love their cakes and cupcakes.

I posted something like this a few months ago, it had nothing but good reviews. We will be doing a publix cake because of that.

I love publix cakes! My FSIL had her wedding cake from Publix and everyone loved it. We were going to do Publix for our cake but found a local bakery who was about the same price so we went with them instead since we like to support local.

I'm planning on getting a Publix cake. We've been to two weddings with cakes from there, and both were amazing!

FH's cousin had her cake from publix and it was delicious. We're using a smaller bakery because I had a bridal show discount.

My best friend had a publix cake. Their colors weren't correct and from what I know is it at least tasted good to other people cause I didn't try it.

We went to a wedding expo and they gave out samples. They were delicious! We are strongly considering going with them for our cake as well. I also know FSIL just went to a wedding where publix did the cake and she said it was delicious.

My bff is! I've attended weddings that had a publix cake and they were delicious! They will also sell you sheet cakes to cut in the back to help you save $ on cake.

That's my plan! In general I'm not a fan of publix, but there's no denying their bakery is great.

However, I don't want a big wedding cake, I'm just going to get one purely for cake cutting (Fiancé is excited about that part). I told my mom that we could literally stop in at the bakery the day before and pick out a pretty pre-made one. I'm wanting to do a desert bar with cake as just one of the options.

I do plan on surprising him with a grooms cake though, and for that I will go to a local specialist bakery.

If I had a Publix where we were getting married, they would probably do my cake. All of my birthday cakes were from Publix. Mmmm...

Publix is actually the preferred vendor for a lot of the venues we looked at! They are definitely an option for us as we look around.

I've been to a few weddings with publix cakes. Most were good but one was terrible. It had a raspberry filling in the center and was so bad I couldn't eat more than a bite. Their regular cakes are usually great so just stick with those. I would check around first though. I thought I would go this route but a local family owned bakery was way cheaper and better quality. Seriously over $200 cheaper!

I'm getting a publix cake! I love them so much, I never even considered another option! I'm going to do a cute, 2 tiered cake and get a sheet cake to be cut up for the guest. It ends up being about $2.50/slice for this option.

I did a tasting and will be ordering from Publix. We are doing a yellow cake with raspberry and lemon filling with cream cheese icing. For a small two tier (8'' and 6'') it was $130. We will have a 3/4 sheet cake in the back for another $130. So for 150 people it will be $260. Part of the reason for the sheet cake was money and the other reason is the cream cheese frosting. Apparently cream cheese frosting doesn't hold up well on large tiered cakes.
