My daughter is getting married on a small yacht this summer. She is nearly 40 years old and getting married for the first time and is only inviting a very small number of people. The immediate family (brother and 3 sisters with spouses and their children) and parents are invited along with 5 friends and their spouses. Total is 40 people. I have offered to add more money to invite a few more like my sisters and a friend and she does not want to go over her budget.
My question is — would it be appropriate to hold a brides brunch and invite them even though they are not invited to the wedding.

Typically pre wedding events are only for people invited to the wedding. I would suggest checking with your daughter first though before scheduling anything if your friends and family are okay with it.

Pre-wedding events typically only include those invited to the wedding. I would let this go and maybe celebrate after the wedding if you so wish.
